Figurative Narratives: Materials and Techniques of Sculpture with Sculptor Justin Perlman

Sculptor Justin Perlman grew up marveling at archetypal artworks in the Metropolitan Museum of Art with a desire to learn how to make everything he saw. After studying Art & Anthropology at Hampshire College, a professor told him that the skills he wanted to master lay beyond the walls of academia. What followed was a journey through the Art Students League of New York, to a village of marble carving artisans in Italy and then to a bronze foundry in the Midwest. Justin's sculptures are in several site-specific settings as well as in national and international collections. He teaches sculpture at the Silvermine Art Center in New Canaan, CT.
