Anonymous Society is pleased to present The Weight of Silence, a powerful exhibition featuring the art of Kim Hopson (NYC), Timshel Matheny (Northern CA), and Rachel Petruccillo (Rhode Island) running from February 6 through March 16, 2025, this show explores the complexities of contemporary life and how silence—far from being emptiness—can convey strength, resilience, and meaning in our fast-paced world through paint, collage, and video.
The Weight of Silence delves into the emotional depth found in moments of pause, contemplation, and reflection. Whether through conceptual installations, subtle abstraction, or intimate portraiture, Hopson, Matheny, and Petruccillo create works that resonate deeply, engaging the viewer in a dialogue of emotions and ideas. The exhibition invites viewers to reflect on how we navigate life’s challenges and find strength in stillness, offering a unique and thought-provoking experience through the artists' distinctive expressions.
Join us at Anonymous Society for the opening reception on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Anonymous Society hours are Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 5 PM, Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM, or by appointment. For more information, visit www.anonymoussocietygallery.com

Brookfield Theatre presents "A Flea In Her Ear," a new version of Georges Feydeau’s farce by David Ives, directed by Tony & Eric Bosco-Schmidt. It has been named the greatest of French farces and perhaps the greatest farce ever written.
Raymonde Chandebise (Rebecca Annalise) suspects that her husband, Victor (Gus Bottazzi), an insurance executive, is secretly having an affair. To find out, she and her friend Lucienne (Anya Nardone) write him an anonymous love letter suggesting a rendezvous at the Frisky Puss Hotel. Thinking the letter was intended for his coworker, the gigolo Tournel (Liam McGrath), Victor sends Tournel off to make the rendezvous in his place. Lucienne’s jealous Spanish husband (Andrés Indrovo) finds the letter, recognizes his wife’s handwriting, and takes his pistols to the Frisky Puss hoping to catch her in the act. Meanwhile, Victor’s nephew Camille (Colin McLoone) tries to warn everyone about the mix-up, but his ridiculous speech impediment prevents anyone from understanding him. At the Frisky Puss, the drunken bellboy looks just like Victor adding even more confusion. With some people trying to hide, some trying to be found, and others appearing unexpectedly - the hotel staff (Dean Alexander, Michele Rosa, and Arianna Alagna) frantically try to keep order, while the gun wielding jealous husband scares everyone into running back to the Chandebise home where the vortex of confusion spins even faster until finally, Victor and Raymonde are reunited and all is forgiven. The cast also includes Daniel J Mulvihill Jr, Desi Kelley, Vincent D'Ambrosio, Rick Stewart, and Jon Barker.
Shows are at the theatre on Route 25, next to Brookfield Library, on February 21 thru March 15 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Reserved seating tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students and seniors 65 and older. A Flea In Her Ear
In a Chicago junk shop, three men plot to rob a man of his coin collection, the showpiece of which is a valuable “Buffalo nickel.” These high-minded grifters fancy themselves businessmen pursuing legitimate free enterprise. But Donny, the oafish junk shop owner, Bobby, a young junkie Donny has taken under his wing, and “Teach,” a violently paranoid braggart, are merely pawns caught up in their own game of last-chance, dead-end, empty pipe dreams.

This building was an indicator of a transitional time in Wilton’s history, with immigration and industrialization fueling Gilbert & Bennett’s rapid growth and the town’s transformation into the suburban community it is today.
In this lecture, Wilton Historical Society’s director, Nick Foster, will discuss the rise of the Gilbert & Bennett Manufacturing Company and Wilton’s often uneven relationship with education in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Co-Sponsor: Wilton Historical Society
Destination: Georgetown, Part Five
Join us for a five-part lecture series, Destination: Georgetown, where we explore the impact of the Gilbert & Bennett Manufacturing Company on the development of Georgetown and surrounding towns.
The Destination: Georgetown lecture series will explore the lived experience of the Gilbert & Bennett Wire Mill complex in Georgetown and its involvement in the creation of “place.” Closed in 1989, the mill remains a landmark tied to the development of the area – the settlement of Swedish immigrants, education and the construction of a school, and the local labor movement. This lecture series will present a new look at the mill and help understand Georgetown as a place of cooperation and diversity.

*Saint Joseph Parenting Center is a non-secular, non-profit organization. The mission of Saint Joseph Parenting Center is to educate parents in the hopes of strengthening the family and breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect
Saint Joseph Parenting Center will be hosting an 9-week Women's Circle!
The Women's Circle is a support group for women to share, explore, build skills, and encourage one another to live authentically in mind, body, heart, and spirit. The topics focus on Self-love, self-esteem, being a well woman, and connecting with others.
The self-care program will enable moms to learn other aspects of living a healthy life, including taking care of themselves in a way that they regularly neglect to do because they fear that it is overly indulgent. Our mothers, who are the primary caretakers, do not get opportunities to spend time on their personal needs and desires, they are the very things that speak to who they are or want to become.
Providing the self-care practicum to the mothers as a group is in line with research on ways to prevent child abuse and neglect. Research shows that an individual's insulation and isolation from society are contributing factors to child abuse. The more alienated a person feels, the greater their stress, and the higher the incidence of child abuse and neglect. One of the most important aspects of our program is the sense of community that exists among the participants.
Dinner and Childcare provided!

Tina Johns Heidrich, Conductor.
The program will feature two major works.
"Illuminare" by Elaine Hagenberg is an illuminating new work that is exquisitely gorgeous and gloriously uplifting. It is the first major work by Hagenberg, whose music soars with eloquence and ingenuity.
Using lesser-known Latin, Greek, and English texts, the piece takes us through a season of beauty and goodness that has been disrupted by darkness and confusion. But as Light gradually returns, hope is restored, illuminating our future, and guiding us to peace and the splendor of God's glory!
There have already been numerous performances of "Illuminare" both in our country and worldwide, with many more to come!
"Stabat Mater" by Norwegian Kim André Arnesen’s breathes new life into the 13th century Latin hymn, which portrays the Virgin Mary's suffering at the crucifixion of her son. Currently one of the most frequently performed choral composers in the world, Arnesen's characteristic rich harmonies and memorable melodic lines combine to create this powerful and emotional new major choral work.
The concert will be accompanied by the CT Master Chorale Orchestra and Joseph Jacovino on piano and organ.
