Botanical Drawings and Monotypes by Bonnie Figgatt at the Ridgefield Library
The Ridgefield Library is pleased to welcome artist Bonnie Figgatt as she exhibits her botanical drawings and monotypes in our Art Gallery from October 24 - November 21st. All are invited to stop by and meet Bonnie at an Artist's Reception on Saturday, October 26th between 2:00-4:00 pm.
Bonnie has been a botanical artist for 15 years, initially doing extensive coursework in the New York Botanical Garden’s certificate program in botanical art. She recently added monotype printmaking to her practice, first studying at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk.
Drawing tends to be exacting and precise; monotype is less controlled and can be unpredictable. Bonnie has found that alternating between drawing and printmaking refreshes and informs her work.
