Igniting Reverie: Works in Wax
Anonymous Society is thrilled to present Igniting Reverie: Works in Wax, a captivating group exhibition showcasing the innovative encaustic works of eight remarkable women artists. Running from October 24 to November 17, 2024, this exhibition invites visitors to experience the unique fusion of color, texture, and emotion of encaustic artwork.
Encaustic painting, an ancient technique blending heated beeswax with pigments and resin, elevates simple materials into complex, layered expressions. In Igniting Reverie: Works in Wax, the featured artists explore a range of themes, from abstract forms to evocative landscapes, each offering a fresh, personal interpretation that inspires both wonder and introspection. The exhibition celebrates the versatility of encaustic art while highlighting the significant contributions of women artists within this historic medium, each sharing a distinct narrative and artistic journey.
