Join us for the fifth season of POETRY IN THE GARDEN! This summer, the themed series features poets whose work gives voice to historically marginalized Americans. On July 28, we proudly present Pulitzer Prize Finalist DANEZ SMITH and JMAHOGANY L. BROWNE - two acclaimed poets whose work stands defiant of racism, both historic and reawakened

A commissioned musical arrangement of "Declaration," a poem by U.S. Poet Laureate Emerita Tracy K. Smith, will also be performed by composer Andrew Levine, vocalist Kimberly Wilson, and others. A Q&A session and book signing will follow.Please bring a lawn chair or blanket.
