POETRY IN THE GARDEN - Voices from Marginalized America: the LGBTQ+ Community

Join us for the fifth season of POETRY IN THE GARDEN! This summer, the themed series features poets whose work gives voice to historically marginalized Americans. On July 21, we proudly present National Book Award winner MARK DOTY and TRACE PETERSON - two acclaimed poets whose work explores the marginalization, expression, and resilience of LGBTQ+ Americans. A book signing follows.
The evening will also include a reading by the winners of the 2025 Ridgefield PRIDE Poetry Contest.
Please bring a lawn chair or blanket. In the event of rain or a heat emergency, the readings move inside the Garden House. Fully accessible. Ample parking on site.
Poetry in the Garden 2025 is generously supported by Ridgefield Library, The Fountain Inn, Books on the Common, Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center, A.C.T. of CT, and Manhattanville University MLA in Creative Writing.
