RIFF Presents Conversations with Filmmakers: Anatomy of a Scene
Join filmmakers Dan Schechter (Life of Crime, Supporting Characters, After Class) and Brian Russell (Not the Same Clarence, Silver Sizzle, Cascades) at the Ridgefield Library on Friday, May 16th at 2:00 pm as they analyze and discuss the anatomy of a scene from five 2025 RIFF (Ridgefield Independent Film Festival) Official Selections.
Daniel Schechter has been a professional, independent filmmaker for almost 20 years. He’s written five produced, feature-length screenplays (four of which he directed). His films have premiered at Tribeca, Slamdance and the Toronto International Film Festivals, and have gone on to play all over the world to awards and acclaim.
Brian Russell has made many short films that have been featured in over 150 film festivals and won nearly 50 awards combined. Recently he has worked with Tony-award-winning Broadway veterans like James Naughton and Boyd Gaines.
