Secondhand Sacred: Exhibition Backstory

Current exhibits on the 1st & 3rd floors include, Pilgrimage Near and Far (1st floor) and Ephemera in Circulation (3rd floor), both of which are part of Secondhand Sacred, a research project in the anthropology of religion. To complement these displays, the curator Dr. James Bielo (Northwestern University) will give us an introduction to how this work got started and how it has evolved to feature public exhibitions here at the C. H. Booth Library and at the University of Chicago. Previous C. H. Booth Library exhibits in the Fall and Winter of 2024 included Domestic Devotion and (Ir)Reverent Fun.
