Learn more [HERE](https://ridgefieldplayhouse.org/event/to-steve-with-love-liz-callaway-celebrates-sondheim) In 1970, Liz Callaway saw a musical that would change her life forever– _Company_, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, at the Alvin Theatre. A decade later, she would make her Broadway debut _Merrily We Roll Along_, written by the same composer, directed by the same director (Harold Prince), and opening at the same theater. Now, with her critically acclaimed show _To Steve With Love_, she pays homage to the writer who changed the course of her life. Honoring the life and songs of the most influential composer/lyricist of the modern musical, the Emmy winner, Tony Award nominee and newly-minted Grammy nominee celebrates the master with a carefully curated evening of the words and music of Stephen Joshua Sondheim. BroadwayWorld raves, “it is the most important Sondheim show right now, and it is the one that can not be missed. Liz Callaway has performed worldwide, and in nearly every major city in the U.S., regularly taking the stage with her sister, AnnHampton Callaway. The Grammy nominated album, _To Steve With Love: Liz Callaway Celebrates Sondheim_, marks her eighth solo recording. #### Part of the Teed & Brown Broadway & Cabaret Series

Learn more [HERE](https://ridgefieldplayhouse.org/event/national-theatre-live-the-motive-and-the-cue) Sam Mendes directs Johnny Flynn as Richard Burton, Mark Gatiss as John Gielgud and Tuppence Middleton as Elizabeth Taylor, in this fierce and funny new play by Jack Thorne, offering a glimpse into the politics of a rehearsal room and the relationship between art and celebrity. 1964: Richard Burton, newly married to Elizabeth Taylor, is to play the title role in an experimental new Broadway production of Hamlet under John Gielgud’s exacting direction. But as rehearsals progress, two ages of theater collide and the collaboration between actor and director soon threatens to unravel. The hugely celebrated production of The Motive and the Cue transfers to the West End this December for 15 weeks only, following a sold-out run at the National Theatre. #### Part of the FirstLight Home Care Classical Series

SPRING HAS SPRUNG AND GALLERY 25 INVITES YOU TO ITS MEMBERS’ SPRING ART SHOW!

The increasingly balmy weather is ushering in Spring 2024, and with it, the Gallery 25 Member’s Annual Spring Show which will run from April 12 to June 9.

Terry Tougas, G25 Director, notes, “The public is invited to view and enjoy some of our member artists’ best work in a wide variety of mediums including paintings, pottery, collages, assemblages, mixed media, photography, wood work, wearable art jewelry and more not-to-be-missed works”.

Our opening reception is on Saturday, April 13 from 4-6 pm and everyone is welcome to attend! Light refreshments and wine will be served. We are holding our reception later in the day so come on by for our wonderful art show and then stop by one of downtown New Milford's delicious restaurants for dinner and dessert.

Get excited for our April Workshops! Adele Moros will be hosting one of her popular Sip & Paint artist classes in which participants will be creating a spring bouquet. This class will be held on April 12 at 6pm. And Bobbi Soares’ “Sound at the Station” will demonstrate an exciting sound bath on April 21 from 11am-12pm. To reserve your place at these workshops and for a full list of our upcoming workshops, visit gallery25ct.com.

New Milford is an exciting destination, offering many enjoyable activities, among them well-reviewed restaurants, pubs and unique shops, as well as an Art Deco movie theater, an innovative playhouse, Theaterworks, and a historical New England green. Plan a fun weekend in our fine town!

The winner of the Tony, the Grammy and London’s Olivier Award, this huge-hearted Broadway hit features a joyous score by pop icon Cyndi Lauper and tells the story of two people with nothing in common – or so they think. Hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer and other beverages will be available to opening night guests, beginning at 7pm. You’ll be amongst the show’s creative team members, reviewers, and other ACT of CT patrons who love being “the first”!Sensory Friendly Performance: Sunday, June 9 at 2pm – This matinee is reserved only for our patrons who require adjusted production elements in order to enjoy the performance (it is not open to the public). The New Milford Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce that our 8-mile and 5K road races will be happening on July 27th! Deep in tradition, our 8-mile race is now on its 56th year, and our 5K race is on its 21st year. The New Milford 8-mile Road Race is the third oldest race of its kind in the state, and one of the most challenging in the area. Runners test themselves during this hilly course through rural New Milford, including the famous Canterbury Hill. 5K runners enjoy a challenging and scenic course up into New Milford, and both races finish on the south side of the town green. Both the 8-mile and 5K race will start at 8:30 AM sharp. **8-mile and 5K Race Info** - Registration fee before July 22nd is $30. Registration fee after July 22nd is $40. - Last day to register for the race online is July 26th at 6:00PM. - The first 300 registered runners will receive a t-shirt (size choice is not guaranteed). - Monetary prizes will be mailed to address on file. - Water stops will be available for both race courses. - Awards ceremony following the race will be at the bandstand. \*Cash prize winners will receive physical checks in the mail to the address on file following race weekend.  - There will be no course record prize. - Dogs OK. Walkers OK. **1/4 Mile Kids Run The Green** Calling all 8 and under runners! Join us for our 2nd Annual "Kids Run the Green" on Saturday July 27, 2024. We're excited to be offering a race just for our kids, to happen in tandem with our 8-Mile and 5K road races. Once the 8-mile and 5K runners clear the start line, we kick off a .25 mile run up the northbound side of main street, crossing over near First Congregational Church, and then back down, crossing the finish line near the corner of Main St. and Bank St. The first 50 kids will receive a magnet and an official "Kids Run the Green" t-shirt. Registration is just $5 and what a great way to get our future runners ready for the bigger races! Date: July 27, 2024 Time: 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM Location: New Milford Town Green Cost: $30, $40 after July 22nd Coordinators: Lauren Ellard and Barbara Crandell \*PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR MORE DETAILS PRIOR TO RACE DAY.

Celebrate Walt Whitman's Birthday with this splendid one-man show! Since the late 1990’s, Stephen’s performances have captured the attention of the audience. It is not just the stunning resemblance to Walt Whitman himself, but the portrayal of the character and the essence that he brings within arm’s reach to the audience that makes the poet come to life. This program is generously funded by the Friends of the New Milford Public Library. RSVP www.newmilfordlibrary.org

Tickets are now on sale for _The Baker’s Wife_ opening on Friday, May 31st. The musical, (book by Joseph Stein, music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz), is directed by Rena Gavigan, with musical direction by Sarah Fox. Performances will take place Friday and Saturday evenings from May 31st through June 2nd at 8pm, with Sunday matinees June 9th and 16th at 5pm. Seating is cabaret-style, and the audience is invited to bring food and drinks (concessions are also available). Doors open one hour prior to curtain. The June 21st performance will be an alcohol-free evening.   Per Music Theater International, _The Baker’s Wife_ tells the tale of “the bickering residents of a rural village in 1935 Provence, France, [who] have been without a baker for seven weeks. They finally find peace and contentment in the new baker, Aimable, and his radiant young wife, Genevieve. However, when Genevieve is lured away by a handsome young man, the middle-aged baker loses all zest for life and baking. When he refuses to bake, the villagers must work as a team to bring Aimable and Genevieve back together.” MTI goes on to characterize _The Baker’s Wife_ as “A gently bittersweet and offbeat fable of life, love and bread.” Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at [ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org](http://ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org). Discounts are available for seniors, students, and veterans. Sunday, June 9th is a “Pay-What-You-Want” matinee. Visit [ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org](http://ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org) for more information.

Learn more [HERE](https://ridgefieldplayhouse.org/event/chazz-palminteris-one-man-show-a-bronx-tale-3) Back by popular demand, Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri returns to the Ridgefield Playhouse stage with “A Bronx Tale” for his twice-annual CT performance! In 1989 Palminteri wrote for himself a play entitled “A Bronx Tale,” a powerful one-man stage commentary in which he depicted his bruising childhood in great detail, which included witnessing gangland slayings. Palminteri brought each and every character to life (18 in all) in this autobiographical piece — his friends, enemies, even his own family. He showcased for years in both Los Angeles and New York, finally sparking the interest of his film idol, Robert De Niro. DeNiro, wanting to direct for the first time, saw the potential of this project and brought both it and the actor/writer to the screen. This is the show that started it all! Before it became a hit Broadway show, Chazz Palminteri performed the one man show of the book and film, A Bronx Tale — about his true life story of growing up in the Bronx — right here on the stage of the Ridgefield Playhouse! Now, after winning multiple awards and performing the show more than 900 times on stages around the world, Chazz Palminteri is back with the original one man show that sold out! #### Part of the Teed & Brown Broadway & Cabaret Series
