SUMMER BIRD BEHAVIORS (CLASS & WALK) at Deer Pond Farm
Anonymous Society is pleased to present If / Only / And / Then, a dynamic new exhibition featuring a dynamic new exhibition featuring work in painting, mixed
media, and ceramics by Sonja Langford (North Carolina / Connecticut), Faye Pamintuan (Philippines / Texas / New York), and Rachel Volpone (Connecticut). Running from June 5 through July 20, 2025, the exhibition traces how the language we carry—spoken, unspoken, imagined—shapes the course of our lives, offering a means to reauthor the self in moments of both fierce protection and quiet surrender, in pursuit of deeper becoming.
This show centers on the moments that define us—the decisions, disruptions, and relationships that shape identity in all its complexity. The featured art works engage with transformation, personal mythology, constructed identity, and the radical authorship of self in systems that have long erased, commodified, or distorted the female voice. If / Only / And / Then doesn’t seek resolution—it charts direction, carving out space through bold, deliberate acts of imagination.
Through diverse media, Langford, Pamintuan, and Volpone offer work that resists containment. Whether abstract, narrative, or conceptual, their practices ask how we locate ourselves—and each other—within shifting cultural landscapes. The exhibition invites viewers into an evolving dialogue about identity, memory, and possibility, offering a space where complexity is not only acknowledged but honored.
Join us at Anonymous Society for the opening reception on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Anonymous Society is an independent exhibition space committed to showcasing contemporary art that challenges convention, amplifies creative voices, and fosters critical dialogue.

NEW MILFORD'S VINTAGE MANIA
Gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 12 PM to 5 PM, Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM, or by appointment. For more information, visit www.anonymoussocietygallery.com or email info@anonymoussocietygallery.com.

Join us for an outdoor conversation between artists Martin Beck and Elle Pérez, moderated by The Aldrich’s Associate Curator, Eduardo Andres Alfonso. Taking place in the Museum’s newly renovated Sculpture Garden—weather permitting—this talk will explore the intersection of each artist’s practice and dives into the current exhibition, Martin Beck: … for hours, days, or weeks at a time, on view until October 5, 2025.
Martin Beck is known for his research-driven installations and projects that examine the social, political, and material conditions of exhibition-making and display. Elle Pérez’s intimate photographs center on queer identity, vulnerability, and the quiet power of everyday moments, often blurring the line between portraiture and personal narrative.
Enjoy drinks and coffee by Ursa Roastery in the Sculpture Garden from 3 to 5 pm, with a cash bar and conversation that begins at 3:30 pm. The talk will include an audience Q&A—an invitation to listen, reflect, and connect.

As a duo, they have created something extra, engaging and extremely entertaining. As part of Poetry in the Garden's 2025 season, "Declarations 2025 - Resilience & Rage: Voices from Marginalized America," KTM&HC and Ridgefield Poet Laureate Emerita Barb Jennes are proud to host a series of poetry workshops in the month of July. Participants can learn, discuss, and create with some of the country's most prominent poetic voices.
On Monday, July 21, ground-breaking poet Mark Doty's workshop will focus on the challenges and opportunities presented by being ourselves on the page. From Mark: "A deep paradox in American poetry lies in the fact that while LGBTQ+ individuals are generally thought of as outsiders, a glance at a list of major American poets - Whitman, Dickinson, Crane, Bishop, O'Hara, Swenson, Rich, Ashbery, and many more - reveals that we're an extraordinary mainstream. This tension is actually fruitful." Includes discussion and short writing exercises.
Workshops are open to writers of all experience levels/genres. Registration is limited to 25 participants per workshop, so reserve your spot early!
Tickets go on sale this spring. Special discounted rates are available for high school and college students - inquire at info@keelertavernmuseum.org.

Commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with "Poetry in the Garden: Declarations 2025." On July 21, we are proud to host two poets whose work explores the marginalization, expression, and resilience of LGBTQ+ Americans: Mark Doty—a National Book Award winner—and award-winning poet Trace Peterson. The winners of a poetry contest co-sponsored by Ridgefield PRIDE will also be presented. A Q&A session and book signing will follow.
Free for all! Bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the readings, held in KTM&HC’s beautiful walled garden. In the event of inclement weather, the reading will move inside the Garden House. Ample parking on-site.
Poetry in the Garden 2025 is generously supported by Ridgefield Library, Books on the Common, The Fountain Inn, A.C.T. of Connecticut, and the Manhattanville University MFA in Creative Writing.
Mark Doty is the author of nine books of poetry, including Deep Lane, Fire to Fire: New & Selected Poems—winner of the 2008 National Book Award—and My Alexandria, which won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and the T.S. Eliot Prize. The author of four best-selling memoirs, Doty has received two NEA fellowships, Guggenheim and Rockefeller Foundation Fellowships, a Lila Wallace/Readers Digest Award, and the Witter Byner Prize. He has taught at the University of Iowa, Princeton University, Sarah Lawrence College, Columbia University, Cornell, and NYU. In 2011, Doty was elected a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets.
Trace Peterson's new collection The Valleys Are So Lush and Steep won the 2024 Alma Book Award from Saturnalia Books and is forthcoming this fall. Her first book, Since I Moved In, won the Gil Ott Award. Peterson co-edited the first-ever anthology of trans poetry Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics, a Finalist for a Lamda Literary Award. She is also editor of the small press EOAGH, winner of two Lamda Literary Awards and a National Jewish Book Award. Currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of English at UConn, Peterson has also taught at Yale, Emory, Hunter College, and the Jack Kerouac School at Naropa.

Check out the band:
Library Jazz Band is a 17 piece jazz collective from Yonkers and Southern Westchester, bringing to life the great classics of all eras of big band jazz. Founded in 2022, the band made a big splash last summer with its homage to Steve Wonder's Innervisions Album on its 50th Anniversary with a program featuring original arrangements by members of the band.
For summer 2024, we bring you BIG BAND Small Screen, a smorgasboard of great tunes, earworms, and big band classics, all of them tunes we have seen and loved on the "small" screen as television or cartoon music, often written by some of the biggest names in big band writing, including Neal Hefti, Quincy Jones, and Lalo Schiffrin. Tunes on the program include Bewitched, The Simpsons, Rockford Files, Batman, and much more.
Library Jazz Band members are outstanding musicians, composers, arrangers, and educators, who happen to enjoy the thrill of playing in a big band. All members of our band are soloists! But here are some selected bios of the band:
Sarah Jane Cion, piano
Sarah is a 1st Place Winner of the internationally acclaimed 17th Annual Great American Jazz Piano Competition, whose judges were Horace Silver, Kenny Barron, Ellis Marsalis, Benny Green and Bill Charlap. Ms. Cion’s trio has performed in Japan at the prestigious Fukuoka Blue Note and Sarah appeared on the Nationally syndicated NPR radio show “Piano Jazz” with Marian McPartland. Most recently, her songs “Cat in the Hat” and “Golden Song” were featured respectively in Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Mule in 2018 and Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Golden Song in Thor: The Dark World.
Rob Susman, trombone
“Susman’s scorching, percussive trombone energy...the perfect hypnotic and feisty representation…” – The JW Vibe
Rob Susman is a trombonist and bandleader, co-leader of Funk Shui NYC; and most recently of the new nonet, Top Secret Lab. Rob has performed with The Allman Brothers, Christina Aguilera, Ashford and Simpson, Frankie Avalon, Marshall Crenshaw, Neil Diamond, Jay and the Americans, Chaka Kahn, Darlene Love, Idina Menzel, Liza Minnelli, Bernadette Peters, Neil Sedaka, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Ronnie Spector, Steve Van Zandt, Benny Golson, Clark Terry, Tito Puente, Branford Marsalis, Chico O’Farrill’s Afro-Cuban Orchestra, and The Duke Ellington Legacy.
Mike Rubino, Alto saxophone, flute, clarinet
Mike has been Chair of the Music Department for the Hastings-on-Hudson School District for over 30 years. His performing credits include playing with the Buddy Rich Band and recording with Lionel Hampton.
Jenny Hill, Tenor saxophone
Jenny Hill is a composer, arranger, and performer and also leads her own band Liquid Horn, a jazz sextet featuring her own compositions. She is currently a member of Lioness, an all-female jazz sextet that has a new release, Pride and Joy, out on Posi-Tone Records.
Jordan Hirsch, trumpet
Jordan is a NYC based professional trumpet player, who performs in a wide variety of styles. He performed in the critically acclaimed NY Off-Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof.

In a small-town community center, five strangers gather for an acting class. As they play theater games and push their boundaries, buried secrets, quiet heartbreaks, and unexpected connections come to the surface.
Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Annie Baker, Circle Mirror Transformation is a masterful exploration of human vulnerability, the power of storytelling, and the unspoken moments that shape us. Under the direction of Gale Alexander, this intimate, poignant, and darkly humorous play invites audiences to witness the raw beauty of ordinary lives unfolding in extraordinary ways.

We are thrilled to announce that KTM&HC will host an exclusive exhibition of Tony Award-winning playwright, actor, and activist Harvey Fierstein's quilts this July.
The three-day show will open with a reception on Thursday, July 24 and run from July 25-27.
Tickets now on sale!
Harvey Fierstein is best known as a five-time Tony Award-winning actor and playwright but, as this exhibition will attest, he is also a visual artist. Recipient of this year’s Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement, Harvey is best known for his stage work on HAIRSPRAY, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, NEWSIES, KINKY BOOTS and TORCH SONG TRILOGY. Audiences are also familiar with film appearances in MRS DOUBTFIRE, INDEPENDENCE DAY and MULAN. He attended NYC’s High School of Art and Design and holds a BFA from Pratt Institute.
A forty-year resident of Ridgefield, Harvey began dabbling in quilt making after watching craft shows on HGTV. With his theatrical exploits curtailed during the Covid crisis, Harvey used that solitary time to further explore the possibilities of quilting - gifting his output to familiars and donating many more to raise money for various charities. This is the first public display of his work. Asked about this show he said, “I am both excited and terrified to expose my work en masse but ready and raring to go!”
Harvey’s autobiography, I Was Better Last Night, is a NY Times best seller.
